SEPTEMBER MINGLE.

IN SEARCH OF NEW ANSWERS. WHO. Everyone. WHERE. Inside the White Moon. WHEN. September 1 - 15. WHAT. Mingling and exploration. WARNINGS. None for now. FOR THE NEWLY AWAKENED. You are asleep. The dreamscape ripples, resolves into a vision of a foreign land, and then a world of pure white. There is the sensation of rising through deep water, and then you find yourself in a room of white marble. Your items may be set on the floor around you, or you could have arrived bare-handed - whichever it is, you'll soon be addressed by a couple of tired-looking people in white coats. It seems they're as confused as you are. Upon receiving an introduction to the White Moon and choosing your faction, you will be allowed to leave the Sanctum - but there will also be an announcement made later on in the afternoon to all of the Moon's foreigners. Will you attend? A PATH TO HOME. Those who do attend will be ushered into one of the Sanctum's meeting halls, where Lucius waits with a woman in green by his side. While her clothes look familiar, you can't be sure if you have seen her before. "Hello, everyone. My name is Lucius, and I serve as the navigational artificial intelligence for this ship. What this means is that I am in a position to find a way to send you back. We've discovered that there's a certain spatial instability inside the ship, so I'm going to pinpoint the source from now on. However, I need your help for the process to continue." The woman steps forward now, emerald eyes glittering beneath her hat. "Lucius' duty is to upkeep the weather and environment systems on the Moon. Basically - pitch in with maintenance, and he'll have more time to solve this particular problem. If you want to go home faster, then I'd suggest you put your time to use." She's not one for sugarcoating, as is evident. "We are unable to leave our city because of the miasma that contaminates the Badlands outside. Unfortunately, that's also where half of the systems are, installed when the Moon was built. So if you go out there and inspect it for us, we'll be able to work on other things." The youth's body flickers a little as he shoots her a slight look, taking up the thread of conversation: "I'll be here for a few hours to answer your questions. If you're interested, please let me know." What will you do? ADMIN. Welcome to Last Eden's September monthly mingle! It is intended as a catch-all for threads that are not put in log posts. New characters are encouraged to use this post as an 'intro log' of sorts, for prompts both in the Sanctum and around the Moon. Please direct any questions about this log to the OOC post here. The faction leaders (or their stand-ins, for Blood and Spring) will be available to interact with upon arrival. To thread with them, tag in to the NPC toplevel and mention who you would wish to thread with. If you wish to have your character meet them later on in the month, please submit this to either the interaction turn-in on the OOC post, or contact the mods to arrange it. |

The first thing people approaching him in the white hall will get is a low, reverberating growl that doesn't look like it should be coming from the lanky old man sitting on the floor, surrounded by a few small possessions. Really, the Sanctum staff are probably lucky he didn't immediately shift into something big and angry upon waking to find himself somewhere unfamiliar, without the scents of his court or, indeed, anything he recognizes at all around him.
"What is this?" he demands, voice rumbling along with the growl.
Once he's been filled in, he prowls what parts of the Sanctum he's allowed in, looking for more answers than the unsatisfactory one he'd been given by the staff. Anyone else who looks out of place and confused will likely get approached with a similar question: "How did you get here?" At least he's not audibly growling anymore?
II. Path to Home
If there is a promise of further answers, Stone is, of course, going to wait around and investigate. He listens with a glower that is more thoughtful than irritated, this time, and asks what he feels is the important question: "Why do you think we can go out there if you can't?"
He's new, okay, he doesn't know this stuff, and he wouldn't put it past these crazy groundlings to sacrifice the strangers for their own well-being.
III. Outside the Sanctum
Once he's free and been told everything those inside are able (or willing) to tell, Stone shoulders his pack and heads out into the streets of the administrative zone. He stands out here, mostly because of his gray skin and tall height and occasional inhuman rumbling noise he makes, but also because his clothes don't fit in with everyone else's, but he moves like he doesn't notice the attention on him, or is so used to it he can ignore it. He peruses the markets, though given he has nothing he feels willing to part with in trade at this point he doesn't but anything. He stops by each of the faction embassies, mostly just to see where they are and what they're like. He stares up at the local Ice dragon tower, and makes an attempt to get inside and investigate the dragons-- at nightfall, by flying right up to the top level, if no one down below will let him in. He even climbs down to the Observatory to stare out at the stars.
At the last place, he lingers, looking somber. They aren't his stars. He knows his stars, after turns and turns of flying under them, and these aren't them. It's this, more than anything else, that drives home how far from the Three Worlds he really is.
Finally, after several days of exploring the sanctum and paying only for food out of the small stash of funds the Spring faction provided him with, he heads out for the farm he's been told he can stay at. Might as well see what this place is going to have to offer while he's stuck here.
