The atmosphere in the Sanctum is much heavier than usual, and the absence of a Blood faction representative is telling. Lucius and Rinzen are there as per normal, the woman's hat pulled over her face in a brooding fashion. Lucius speaks first. "Hello, everyone. Let me apologize once again for not scrying further information on what transpired last month. There is a method to increase what I can detect and I will be implementing it into myself when I can. Thanks to your help, most of the crystals in the Terminal have been recovered. We shouldn't face any danger from now on." The Empress clears her throat, prompting him to give a slight bow and move closer to the walls. "The crystals that we have received will be used to rejuvenate our lands. The preparations have been completed, and we invite you to join us at the Life Springs for the ceremony." Her announcement finished, she returns to her usual calm posture. Though with all that has transpired in that last month, perhaps it would be wiser to take this chance and clarify what exactly is going on. ROAD TOWARDS THE EARTH. As promised, the PCs will be able to travel to the Life Springs on an official mission. They will set off from the Sanctum via horse (or flying, if Stone decides to carry passengers), tracing a path deep into the woods. Bramble and Stone have come here before, to some extent - the deeper you go, the more translucent the trees become and the more stars appear to be resting on their leaves. Some are small fireflies, but others are will-o-wisps; spirits without form. The trees and bushes part to allow the horses passage. Eventually they will arrive at a tree larger than all the others surrounding it, home to a vast assortment of spirits. The crystals harvested from the terminal are pooled at its roots - two carts full, but the amount still pales in comparison to the tree's immense size. The Empress raises her hands, and the spirits fall into a hush. Light pours forth from the crystals in myriad streams, traveling into the largest tree and illuminating it from within. The greenery around the grove also seem to grow in response, their leaves becoming more vivid in the setting sun. But, where is the Jade Dragon? ADMIN. Welcome to Last Eden's December monthly mingle! It is intended as a catch-all for threads that are not put in log posts. Feel free to start threads for both segments of the log - for the latter one, mods will tag in with NPCs as well! Please direct any questions about this log to the OOC post here. The Spring and Ice faction leaders will be available to interact with in the meeting. To thread with them, tag in to the NPC toplevel and mention who you would wish to thread with. If you wish to have your character meet them later on in the month, please submit this to either the interaction turn-in on the OOC post, or contact the mods to arrange it.

Rocket's nose twitches and ears swivel with obvious interest. "Can I see it?" He doesn't work well with others, but he'll take the suggestion under advisement-- later. Right now, he wants to see this hologram's guts.

"Is it a must for you to see it before the upgrade?"

Rocket hasn't been here very long, so there's confidential information at stake.

He shrugs. "It's not a must. It's a want. But I'm not sure any of the other losers around here would know anything about it. I'm from a place where most of the technology I've seen around here is antique. Useless crap. You, though, are at least interesting."

[diastima]

"I see. I hope you can understand that there are regulations that we have to work with. Crystals are extremely valuable and some parties are willing to use force to get their hands on them. I can bring you to work with our engineers, but you'll need to be supervised until the situation settles."

That's a compromise, at least.

[quitsmiling]

It's a compromise he can work with. For now, anyway. He shrugs. "Sure. Probably ought to meet your engineers at some point, anyway, if I'm going to make any units around here. Or whatever you people use for money."

[diastima]

Lucius nods.

"I'll let the department know and keep you updated. Do you have one of the mirrors?"

[quitsmiling]

"What? No. They gave me this." He fishes the old-fashioned cell phone the Light handlers had for him out of his tool belt, and holds it up. "Primitive but gets the job done, I guess. What would you need a mirror for?"

[diastima]

"That'll do too. Some people use mirrors for communication. I can call you when I have the details down."

[quitsmiling]

"Yeah, that sure does sound useless," Rocket sniffs. He knows, vaguely, about magic and the like, but mostly chalks it up to technology that he hasn't seen the specs for yet. "I'll prowl around and see what I can do in the meantime. Got any idea how long you'll be?"

[diastima]

Lucius tilts his head for a few moments.

"Maybe two days or three?"

[quitsmiling]

"Okay, that's more than enough time to get the layout of this place," Rocket decides, and with that he starts heading out. "I'll be waiting," he tosses over his shoulder.

"Until next time," Lucius offers quietly before turning to attend to some other matter.
